Client relationship and cultural fit, innovation, reliability and data backup/security have been found to be the most important attributes influencing BI and data warehousing services clients' satisfaction with their outsourcing providers. This forms one of the many findings of the BI/data warehousing industry IT outsourcing (ITO) user survey that was in 2009.
The survey had probed into as many as 258 contracts held by ITO users. A total of 18 key performance indicators (KPIs) or criteria were employed, with each respective vendor scored by client type and ranked on a 0-10 scale per KPI.
The results of the survey, apart from the one mentioned, also found that vendor dissatisfaction is uncommon in business intelligence/data warehousing outsourcing among top-ranked suppliers. Further, BI/DW services vendor arrangements from a comprehensive/end-to-end ITO niche vendor produced the highest satisfaction rates in 2009. It has also been pointed out that full-service BI/DW/decision support and enterprise reporting vendors attained the top client experience and satisfaction ranking in 2009. Oracle, iGate and Accenture finished among the top rankings in the individual functions of BI/DW.
